Maitland Bay Beach. The real reason to walk the Maitland Bay track, however, is to get to Maitland Bay Beach at the bottom. The only other way to get to this .6km-long beach is by boat. Once at Maitland Bay Beach, you can swim, but there are no lifeguard patrols. The water also gets deep pretty quickly.

The well sign-posted Maitland Bay Track is the easiest way to get to Maitland Bay (arguably the best beach in Bouddi National Park), and one of the most popular tracks in the park, it ends with views of the wreck of the S.S. The Maitland Bay Track is a short but steep bushwalk that winds its way down from the Bouddi National Park Information Centre to the stunning beach of Maitland Bay through beautiful rainforest. While the track down to the beach may be very easy, the return trip is quite challenging, with some very steep sections to conquer.

Located only a stone's throw away from Gosford and just 1.5 hours from Sydney, Maitland Bay can be accessed a couple of ways, but the best way (in my humble opinion) is via the spectacular Bouddi Coastal Walk in Bouddi National Park (one of the best NSW national parks, FYI).

Continue along the coast past a cave and onto the idyllic sands of Maitland Bay beach before climbing up to Bouddi Point and the foot of Mount Bouddi. The fire trail continues to trend northeast away from the sea cliffs until the final stop at Little Beach.
