Make the lemonade: To make the lemonade, simmer equal parts water and sugar over low heat until dissolved. Once cooled to room temperature, add to a pitcher along with about four cups cold water and about one cup lemon juice. The lemonade can be made up to two weeks in advance, and stored in the refrigerator. Want a more convenient option?

1 3/4 Cup Water 1 Cup Basil Leaves 6 oz Vodka 24 Ice cubes Instructions Juice lemons. Add water, lemon juice and sugar together and stir to make the lemonade. In a pitcher add ice cubes, then put basil leaves on top, then pour in the lemonade. Stir to combine, then add the vokda and stir to combine. Serve over ice.

However, I prefer the blender method as it better preserves the earthy freshness of the basil in the final mocktail. Ingredients. 1.5 oz. (45 ml) freshly squeezed lemon juice (approx. 1.5 small lemons) 4 g basil leaves.

Add mint leaves to the drinking glass (or if you are batching, to the pitcher). Cover with just a bit of your lemonade, about 1 oz if making one glass at a time. Muddle with a muddler or wooden spoon. Muddle for 30-60 seconds. Add in the cubed or crushed ice carefully. And if it's a cocktail version, add in vodka.
