You should be aware though that the in September the holiday season is coming to and end and some of the smaller resorts may already be closing down. You will have difficulty with public transport.

1. Re: Olbia or Cargliari. Your choice may be dependanat on price as July is the peak month and both areas will be busy to cities of Olbia & Cagliari. Sardinia is a diverse & 'wild' island, July & August are the busiest & expensive months for the islands. Olbia as a city is not the ideal tourist destination, majority use it as an arrival city.
