Tripp Trapp® Stuhl Natur
Mar 6, 2022 at 6:51 PM In a perfect world I would love the Stokke or Tripp Trapp high chairs, but we are on a pretty tight budget and they're just so dang expensive. So I'm thinking about the IKEA high chair instead. Anyone have advice or had both at one point? Is the Tripp Trapp really worth it to go into the red in our budget haha?

The Stokke Tripp Trapp aids good posture better than any other highchair Arlo has tried in the past 12 months of eating in pubs, restaurants and at friends' houses. In any case, we just had our second baby and were considering getting a second chair for her. Thanks for posting this though, because we are now going to look into the Ikea alternative. The Tripp Trapp with baby kit, cover and tray cost us about $500 + taxes. I'm thinking I can sell it on Kijiji for $250-300, buy the 2 new chairs and make.

That's genius. I just got the Stokke CLIKK! I did a ton of research and basically found that the Tripp Trapp and IKEA Antilop were the most popular/recommended but the Tripp Trapp is ridiculously expensive and IMO fugly as hell, and the Antilop required too many accessories and modifications to be the ideal chair.

As someone who is fairly frugal and doesn't take big purchases lightly, you won't find me recommending expensive things very often. But this high chair is so worth it.

A complete rework based on Tripp Trapp Trofast Clip (metal basket). That model gave me the idea, that it's much better to mount the adapter directly on the chair instead of the box itself. I've recreated the model ensuring that it would fit the IKEA Trofast plastic storage box. Version 4 works much better compared to the earlier 3 iterations.
