Grey knights are so iconic that bolting on more to them would, for me, feel "wrong" but that doesn't mean it IS wrong. In an Index Astartes article some time back in WD (260s??) that featured both the Grey Knights and Deathwatch, the Grey Knights were shown to have Black armour (also armour type was more like standard SM PA & TDA).As well, in a novel (cannot remember which), their armour was described as "burnished blue-silver metal".
