With its white clapboard structure and tall, green-shuttered windows, The Virginia House is four stories high. The 96,000 square-foot structure was built in 1875 and restored in 1987.

My review is only for the Orkney Springs Hotel and related buildings. My first time here was in 1973. My High School Band came here every year for a week long marching band camp. I also was here for band camp in 1974 and 1975. In this millennium, I have been here in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013 and just this past weekend in 2015.

After spending a fabulous three days there, roasting marshmallows, reading on the one of the MANY porches, eating- a lot- playing/singing a lot of music, walking, hiking, swimming, napping.
