THE PROCESS - Woodblock Chocolate How We Make Woodblock Chocolate Source Although cacao originated in Mesoamerica, it is now grown around the globe between the 20th parallels, along the equator. As cacao is our main ingredient, finding the best bean is paramount.

The Workshop The Woodblock Chocolate Manufactory is located in SE Portland, near the Wheelock home. The space is flooded with natural light and has all the equipment needed to create chocolates.

All of our chocolate is made right here in the Woodblock Chocolate manufactory in Portland, Oregon. You can follow the smell of roasting cacao to our front door. The chocolate making process is on display from our retail shop and we urge you to ask any questions that might be inspired by the chocolate making machines.

Woodblock Chocolate. The first on Portland's bean-to-bar block, husband and wife chocolate-making team Charley and Jessica Wheelock opened their "manufactory" in 2010. In a quiet residential neighborhood, they craft Woodblock Chocolate bars with a hodgepodge of cleverly repurposed machinery that includes a refurbished turn-of-the-century.
